California is one of the most athlete-friendly NIL states in the country. Athletes have broad opportunities to monetize their name, image, and likeness—but must still follow key compliance guidelines to stay eligible.

High School NIL:
Allowed with relatively flexible rules depending on school policies.

College NIL:
Fully active. Athletes can sign endorsement deals, partnerships, and brand agreements.
