Texas allows limited NIL activity, but maintains strict separation between athletes and school-affiliated identity.

✔ Engage in NIL activities independently
✔ Build personal brand (social media, training, camps)
✔ Work with businesses not tied to school
✔ Receive compensation outside school involvement

🚫 No school logos, uniforms, or branding
🚫 No reference to school teams
🚫 No school staff or coach involvement
🚫 No deals tied to athletic performance or participation

• Posting in uniform or school gear
• Tagging school/team in NIL content
• Booster or third-party influence
• Misunderstanding “school affiliation”

✔ Keep NIL activity separate from school identity
✔ Document all deals and communications
✔ When unsure — default to caution
✔ Consult professionals when needed

College athletes in Texas:

✔ Can monetize NIL
✔ Can work with collectives and brands
✔ Must follow NCAA + school policies
